Today we’re going to look at five weight loss tips that are actually making you fat. These advices when followed can set you up for failure and frustration.
The first common advice makes our first list: it’s counting calories. Sure, this may help you reduce your food intake, but it can also lead to extreme obsession and deprivation which can actually lead to weight gain over time.
The second tip that many of us have heard before is cutting out entire food groups. We’re all aware of the low carb and low fat diets that have become popular but the truth is, cutting out entire food groups can leave your body with a nutrient deficiency which in turn will slow down your metabolism and cause weight gain.
Thirdly, don’t restrict yourself too much. Many diets out there advocate for severe restrictions and few treats, but this can quickly lead to rebound binging due to deprivation which will cause you to end up packing on the pounds.
Fourthly, watch what you drink. We often don’t realize how many calories are in the drinks we consume on a daily basis - like soda, juices, and alcohol. Unfortunately, these empty calories can add on the pounds quickly and without you noticing it.
And finally, be careful when using meal replacement products. Many of these products are full of chemicals and additives that our bodies don’t need and can actually cause weight gain.
So in conclusion, successful weight loss does not have to involve extreme measures like cutting out food groups or consuming 'detox' products. A healthy balance is truly the key to success. Thank you for joining us today - keep an eye out for more great tips in the upcoming months!
